I love curling up with a quilt, a cup of this easy homemade hot cocoa mix, and a good Hallmark Christmas movie. We start watching the countdown to Christmas movies, as soon as they start airing.
We've seen almost all of the ones from years past, but have our favorites and watch a lot of them again and again.
This Easy Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix is made with only 4 ingredients! We always keep a batch in a large mason jar in the pantry, for those nights we are feeling extra festive. Plus, we never miss a Christmas Eve driving around looking at Christmas lights with our mugs of hot cocoa.
How do you make Homemade Hot Cocoa Mix from scratch?
Start with 4 simple ingredients: nonfat dry milk, powdered sugar, Rodelle Baking Cocoa, and salt.
Just mix them together, and store in an air tight container.
Mix together two tablespoons with 8 ounces of water, or milk. I like to mix half water and half milk. Sometimes a splash of half and half is a nice addition.
What are some toppings and add ins for hot cocoa mix?
- whipped cream
- marshmallows
- a drizzle of caramel or chocolate syrup on top of the whipped cream
- crushed candy canes
- chopped 85% chocolate
- white chocolate
Add two tablespoons to a cup of coffee for a nice mocha!
Whip up a batch or two, tie a ribbon around the jars, buy a couple of pretty coffee mugs, and give these as quick and easy, plus cheap gift ideas!
