The perfect drink to enjoy on the official day of "love", has to be red! These Valentine's Mimosas are made with pink champagne and pomegranate juice; the perfect combination.
How crazy is it that I've never actually had a mimosas until I made this drink? How crazy is it that I didn't even know that this was called a mimosas until a good friend of mine told me that was the name of it? Are you laughing yet?
I'm serious. I'm not one to order an alcoholic drink at a restaurant that I've never had before. What if I don't like it? I am sure Zack would drink it, but let's be honest, he's a guy, and would much prefer a beer over a cocktail any day. Unless it's Jack and coke. Is that even a cocktail? See I'm outside of my comfort zone here.
I don't usually ever make cocktails at home, and I only drink them out a few times a year, and I almost always order something I've had before. It's just the way I roll. If we're out and you want to order me something, go for it! I'll totally try it. I may not like it, but I'll try it.
I do tend to like clear alcohol's better than dark. I also prefer the fruity stuff over the savory (Bloody Mary's - yuck!). Just don't order me a very dirty martini!
We were out with friends for a parade, and my friend swore that I had told her that I like very dirty martini's. I honestly couldn't remember telling her this. I do remember saying I like martini's. Very dirty? What's the difference? Well, I totally found out!
She ordered me one, and being the sweet girl I am, I totally drank it. Lucky for me, I happen to like green olives. It was like turning up a jar of green olive juice. It was salty. Who likes those things?
Then, later she sent me a text and was like, I am so sorry, it was so-n-so who told me that. Ahhh. Well, too late. I drank the olive juice. Ha!
The idea of adding pomegranate juice to champagne came to me on Christmas. My sister-n-law offered me a drink of champagne mixed with cranberry juice. It was tasty!
I thought to myself, pomegranate juice would be so good in this. Little did I know that it already existed! I know little to nothing about alcoholic drinks. Oops.
