At one point in time you couldn't log-on to Pinterest and not see a mug cake recipe in your feed. They aren't as popular as they once were and I have no idea why not. After all it's basically the only way you can eat cake using portion control. Am I right? Who else can eat the correct size slice of cake? I for one can not, and I commend those that can. Bravo! For those of us who need a slice the size of our face, this is our answer to portion control.
This mug cake is packed with a tasty vanilla flavor and loaded with sprinkles! It's the perfect way to enjoy dessert without going overboard, and it's too simple not to make. These ingredients are always in my pantry. The sprinkles in this were left over from an Easter treat that I made. We always have left over sprinkles, and no one is judging you if your sprinkles are left over from Christmas or Halloween! As a matter of fact, I'll be honest, I have sprinkles from Halloween in my pantry right now. So here is a way to use them up!
This cake is moist as is, but top it with ice cream if you must, because who doesn't love cake and ice cream! I even would say that if you were dying for some frosting to eye ball a spoonful or so of cream cheese, drop in some powdered sugar, using a fork mix it together, sprinkle in a tiny dash of salt, and a drop of vanilla flavoring, and you've got a tasty cream cheese frosting to go on top of your minute and twenty second mug cake. No piping bag required!
Is chocolate more your thing? I have a mug cake recipe for that! Peanut Butter Chocolate Explosion Mug Cake
