Pomegranate & Apple Crumble

This Pomegranate & Apple Crumble is sweet, tart, and spiced with cinnamon. The topping is a crunchy crumble with all the warm winter spices that  you know and love. 

Ingredients

Filling

  • 2 large Granny Smith apples, peeled and sliced about 1/4 inch thick
  • 1 cup pomegranate arils
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Topping

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 stick butter, room temperature
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a square 8X8 baking dish, mix together the ingredients for the filling. (I just used my hands to toss it all together to coat everything)

  2. In a small bowl, using a pastry cutter, or you can use your hands. Mix together all the ingredients for the topping. Sprinkle it across the top, and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown, and there is bubbling around the edges.
