If you've been here long, then you may remember when my recipe for Spicy Chicken Cheeseballs went viral.
The recipe still brings in my most top views during the holidays and football season, and with good reason too. These Spicy Pimento Cheese Chicken Cheeseballs are the perfect swap for the oh-so-popular sausage balls.
Well, I've taken that recipe and made a couple of changes to create the perfect appetizer for any occasion with these Spicy Pimento Cheese Chicken Cheeseballs.
These Spicy Pimento Cheese Chicken Cheeseballs are just as simple to make, only needing a few ingredients. It makes a lot, depending on the size of the ball you choose to roll out.
I make them smaller or larger, depending on the occasion. But I also like to use a cookie scoop, so that they are all the same size.
When I do these for dinner, I tend to roll them a bit larger than for a gathering with family and friends.
You can totally use a store bought pimento cheese spread....
But you want it chunky, and if you can, I would buy the deli made over the mass produced brands.
It just has an over all better flavor, and it's not a funky orange color. Your balls may end up a funky color if you use a mass produced brand, I do not know.
I usually buy Lucky's in house made pimento cheese. Although Publix has a really tasty one as well.
If you want to make your own, go for it! I have a simple recipe for Creamy Homemade Pimento Cheese that would be really tasty in this recipe.
My recipe for Spicy Chicken Cheeseballs calls for an all purpose baking mix, y'all this is just Bisquick. I don't know how many comments I received of people asking what that is.
What is all purpose baking mix?
It's just Bisquick!
I decided at the time to call it all purpose baking mix, because I don't like using brand names in recipes unless they are sponsored.
There was also a lot of fails for others with the other recipe because they used flour.
You can not use flour to make Spicy Pimento Cheese Chicken Cheeseballs.
It's not the same. There are other ingredients in an all purpose baking mix, so it isn't just flour.
If you want you can make your own all purpose baking mix. I suggest do a quick Google search, because I have never tried making my own. I just buy the box.
There is an organic brand you can get at Whole Foods, I just can't remember the name of it at the moment.
If you do decide to hunt that one down, all purpose baking mix will be helpful in locating it.
