Thanksgiving and Christmas just wouldn't be the same without a favorite family treat, homemade apple cider. My recipe comes from my niece, from a few years ago. We were at my brothers house one Thanksgiving and she was telling us about this yummy apple cider that she makes. I used to be a very picky eater, and honestly up until that year, I had never had apple cider. There was just something about the thought of hot apple juice that didn't sound appetizing to me. She assured me it was delicious and I decided to give it a taste. Wow! I am so glad that I did, because it has been a yearly favorite ever since. I haven't changed her recipe too much, but to adapt to Kelsie's food allergies, I do make a homemade whipped cream. Don't let all that "homemade" scare you off, it's very simple and you'll impress your family and friends when you break out your apple cider this holiday season! Feel free to double the recipe to accommodate your serving size.
