Years ago I ran across a recipe that after seeing the picture, I thought looked like the perfect chocolate dish. I'm a brownie fan of all sorts, and the soft gooey ones are my favorite, so when I saw this I had to make it. I can't recall where it came from. It could have been a magazine or a website, it's been so long now I can't remember and I just scribbled it down. But where ever it came from, thank you!
When I was pulling out my recipes to build Everyday Made Fresh with, I knew that this had to be included! It's warm and gooey chocolate center surrounded by a brownie like consistency that make this the perfect chocolate lovers dish. The picture includes ice cream, but I promise it's just fine and dandy without it.
This is what my lovely 16 year old requested for her birthday this year. Simple, yet jam packed with flavor. I love that my girls are simple like that. No extravagant cake with fondant and tiers, although there is nothing wrong with that; that's tasty too! It's just this is what she requested, and of course I delivered.

Oh, I love this dessert but I had kind of forgotten about it. It's not only delicious, it's also incredibly simple to make which is pretty important to me in this busy stage of life!

I love when things are simple to make with little ingredients and usually ones we already have on hand!

Chocolate does the same thing to me! We just finished dinner but I have some little chocolate peanut butter bars that we were given and I was eating one, even though I'm completely stuffed! 😉
Valerie
You had me at chocolate! Both my husband and I are alcoholics so this would definitely feed our addiction.

Hello I'm your neighbor over at Meg's Mingle Monday. I have this recipe too and we call it Hot Pudding Cake. It is so good out of the oven with freshly whipped cream. Funny how it is called so many different things.
Joanna
I've never heard it called that before, but that sums it up, it's like a hot chocolate pudding with a brownie top! No matter what it's called, it's chocolate and a winner in my book! 🙂
Jeanelle
I can't wait to try this! Should I first spray the baking dish with nonstick spray or grease/flour? Or is that not a necessary step with this recipe? Thank you!!
Joanna
You can, I didn't as I was using my glass pyrex, which has been good so far (knock on wood) about not sticking.
Adele Aiken
how many does this recipe serve - I mean normal servings not gigantic ones for the chocoholics?
Joanna
I could get 9 out of this dish easily, in an 8X8 standard brownie size pan. That would yield perfect sizes for those that are non-chocoholics. 🙂
Jessica @ Together As Family
Um, wow! This looks amazing and so delicious. I love cobbler, crisps, and crumbles of any kind so I am sure this chocolate version would become a new fave 🙂

Aren't they the best?!
