Cheese and sausage biscuits are the perfect on the go breakfast during the week. Prep and bake in 20 minutes the night or weekend before.
Breakfast on the go can be hard sometimes. Most kids will gravitate towards poptarts (I know mine do), but we as parents can do better then that. These cheese and sausage biscuits can be made on the weekend in 20 minutes and eaten throughout the week, or even made the night before. Got a little bit of time? Make an omelet style egg and place it inside the biscuit for even more nutrients!
I used to be terrified to make biscuits, but honestly, they are easier then you think. Just don't handle the dough too much and they will come out like fluffy clouds every single time. I remember the first time I made biscuits, nobody had told me exactly what to do, and I used a recipe, kneaded the dough, baked them and they were hard rocks. We could have probably used them to break windows some place or dropped them off at the nearest ball field for baseball practice. I think my family ate them because they didn't want to hurt my feelings, but I knew better.
Then I ran across a recipe that told me exactly what to do, and I tried them, and have used that technique every time and have had nothing but cloud like biscuits since!
So no fear, let's make those biscuits to toss to your kids, and not cause injury, on the way out in the mornings.

These sound delicious - I will try them with vegetarian sausages. Should I use plain flour?
Joanna
I always use plain all purpose, unless I've mentioned otherwise. I'm sure you could sub some out for whole wheat if you'd like.

These sound delicious! I'm always looking for a quick and easy breakfast for my hun buns to take to work with him and I know he will love these flavors. I appreciate the tips on making the biscuits as well. It's an art form that seems difficult but isn't with a few tips.
Joanna
Thanks Meg! This is the perfect breakfast for him. Good luck on your biscuits, and let me know how they turn out for you. 🙂

My kids would LOVE to have sausages and/or biscuits for breakfast. It's never occurred to me to me to put the two together. Must give it a try sometime. Thanks for linking up to #cookblogshare this week.
