Slightly tangy, slightly sweet that’s the only way to describe this delicious Balsamic Roasted Potatoes!
The holidays are here, and nothing says holidays to me like the Christmas ham. Growing up my family never made turkey because my parents were not that crazy about it. Therefore all of my holiday memories include ham. Of course I carry on the tradition with my own family. On my recent shopping trip at Walmart, I made sure to pick up the Hormel Cure 81 bone-in ham Cherrywood flavor, and all the ingredients for my sides, especially my balsamic roasted potatoes.
My sides are a spin on the traditional, a bit more modern. One of our family's favorite spins on the traditional side dish is this balsamic glazed roasted potatoes, as opposed to mashed potatoes. The tangy sweet sticky sauce from the balsamic glaze pairs perfectly with this the smokey flavors from the Hormel Cure 81 bone-in ham Cherrywood flavor.
These potatoes are so easy to make! Here's how..
Start by rinsing 2 pounds small red potatoes.
Cut the potatoes in half and then in quarters.
In a large bowl mix in your chopped potatoes, 3 tablespoons minced garlic, 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, 1 teaspoon dried thyme, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon pepper, ¼ cup balsamic vinegar reduction.
Spread potatoes out on a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake for 15 minutes, flip and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until fork tender.
Our menu includes the delicious Hormel Cure 81 bone-in ham Cherrywood flavor, these balsamic roasted potatoes, cranberry relish (on the blog later this week), my mother's chicken 'n dressing, and this Green Bean Casserole Without the Canned Soup.
What I love most is that the Hormel Cure 81 bone-in ham Cherrywood flavor is perfect for any gathering with your family, not just the holidays. Whether it's Sunday afternoon lunch, work parties, or a casual dinner, this ham is perfect!
What's always on your family's table? What are some sides you can't live without? And what about dessert? What would you pair that would go with the Hormel Cure 81 bone-in ham Cherrywood flavor?

I wouldn't have known how to add a balsamic glaze to potatoes so it works, but this sounds perfect! Thanks - been trying to find a way of getting potatoes into a balsamic salad for quite a while now!
Joanna
Martin, your going to love how simple it is to get the two together! Let me know how that balsamic salad goes, it sounds lovely.
Lydia @ Thrifty Frugal Mom
Yum! I love roasted veggies/potatoes and these look so delicious. I'm sure the balsamic vinegar gives it great flavor.
Joanna
Thanks Lydia! The balsamic vinegar just goes so well with the potatoes. Oh I bet if you tossed in veggies to roast with the potatoes, that it would be wonderful together. Let me know if you try it out sometime.
