I had a combination of apples and pears in the fridge, not enough to do anything much with unless we ate them fresh, or combined them into something. Since we were having a mini Thanksgiving meal, I wanted to combine them into our dessert. Glad I did because it turned out fantastic and the perfect way to finish our dinner.
I was on Pinterest and saw this recipe and thought, I can make that allergy friendly AND use up the fruit that is begging to be done something with.

What do you need?
::topping::
2 tablespoons butter, softened
¼ cup brown sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
::skillet::
2 tablespoons butter
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon flour
¼ cup applesauce
1 teaspoons lemon juice
3 apples - I used pink lady - peeled, cored, and cut into ½ inch thick slices
2 pears - peeled, cored, and cut into ¾ inch slices
½ cup raisins
What do you do?
1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Combine the topping and set aside.
3. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large ovenproof skillet over medium-low heat. Stir in the brown sugar and flour. Continue stirring, until the sugar is melted and the mixture is smooth.
4. Whisking constantly, add the apple sauce and lemon juice, cook until boiling.
5. Reduce heat to low and add the apples and cook until just tender. Toss in the pears and cook about 3 minutes until they are hot.
6. Remove from heat, stir in the raisins and sprinkle the topping over the top. Bake until the fruit is tender and the topping is browned. About 18-25 minutes. Let sit for about 10 minutes to allow to thicken before serving.
Notes: Delicious on it's own, or on top of ice cream!
