Another week has gone by and here’s how it went:
Monday, day 8
I woke up this morning with every excuse in the world to not workout. Kelsie had gymnastics free time with our homeschool group at 11, and all I could think about was that I needed to go grocery shopping too, but I made myself do it anyways, because I would regret it later.
I really do not like Monday’s workout, it’s awful and hard. All I can think about is one more day of that! I was huffing and puffing, and then my flabby stomach gets in the way of the stomach exercises, and it gets me all discouraged, and in all honesty makes me want to give up, because the road to healthy seems so far away.
I never made it to the grocery store which wasn’t good because food was all over today. I managed to get in my containers, but barely, and it was sparse. Lunch was sliced turkey and a slice of garlic roasted cheese (World Market) on a slice of toast with carrots. I had coffee twice today and went over by one teaspoon on my sweetener. I had sausage and turkey bacon for dinner with a biscuit (homemade), that I counted as a yellow container. But, I am fairly certain that I shouldn’t have had it. However, I was under by two containers on Sunday, so perhaps I made up for it? I have no idea how that exactly works, but I’ll go with it for now.
I found this awesome printable for keeping track of my containers throughout the day, and wanted to share it with y’all. I am a very visual person so this helps me so much! I was out of light cyan (stupid printer!), and so I sent the link to my husband at work to print it for me. I told him I only needed two, one for this week and one for next; he brought home a whole stack! I ask him about it, since I told him I only needed two, he said it’s because he remember me telling him that I may want to do another round. 🙂
Tuesday, day 9
Another Shakeology smoothie for breakfast. I’ll admit it right now, as tasty as Shakeology is, I am getting sick of the same flavor every.single.day. I am not a huge veggie eater and I have to use two of my green containers on spinach for my smoothies, so I really wished that I would have gotten a box with different flavors, because the same stupid flavor everyday is killing me!!!
Snacks are really just spicy flavored almonds, and fruit. Fruit is my favorite!
Lunch was chicken strips, left over parmesan roasted green beans, and rice.
Dinner was Chicken Fajita Rice Bowls. I used the recipe from The Best Chicken Fajitas and then went with rice as opposed to a tortilla shell.
The workout was a struggle. I could have thought of a dozen different excuses today, but I fought it off and worked out anyways.
Wednesday, day 10
Okay, so about half way through, and today is gonna be awful! I have to make a yummy treat for a blog that I contribute to and I have to taste it, 3 different ways. Kelsie will be the only one here, but I have to taste test it, because well she’s 10. Not looking forward to that at all.
Working out wasn’t as hard to start this morning. I didn’t have to talk myself into it like I have had to the last two days. I did it, pushed through, and didn’t die.
Snacks today, spicy almonds, turkey and a string cheese, and grapes. Lunch was leftover fajita chicken meat, a peach, and leftover parmesan roasted green beans again.
Dinner was One Pan Balsamic Chicken and Asparagus. SO yummy! I’m not a fan of asparagus, but I managed to eat this. I made a small sweet potato to go with it.
I had coffee this afternoon with some agave for the sweetener and fat free half n half. What a yummy treat!
Thursday, day 11
Oh my Pilates Fix – OUCH! Those side leg exercises are so painful. I made it all the way through though! Yay!
Another breakfast Shakeology smoothie. Lunch was chicken strips, sweet potato, grapes, and a slice of cheese.
I had a delicious mocha made with agave, coffee, fat free half n half, and cocoa powder. YUM!
Nuts for a snack, along with a couple of slices of turkey.
I quickly roasted some pork chops and green beans with a side of sweet potato for dinner.
And day 11 went pretty smooth.
Friday, day 12
This morning was different. I actually ate breakfast! Oatmeal with peanut butter, half a banana, a dash of cinnamon, and chopped pecans, with turkey bacon. I wasn’t planning on working out this morning because Kelsie had a homeschool field trip that Zack was going to take her on. I wanted to spend time with her as opposed to working out. I worked out when they left. And that workout….Whew. That cardio is killer. My legs and butt were on fire! But, you know what? Autumn is amazing during this workout with her motivation. She just says all the right things, at all the right times. She says them when you need to hear them, when you feel like your going to quit. I made it through! May be sore tomorrow, but I made it.
I had my Shakeology for lunch. I am so sick of this drink. – I haven’t read anybody saying that, but for me, I’m over it. Again, it’s the chocolate, I think. I love chocolate, don’t get me wrong, but everyday now for 12 solid days. Just UGH! I added twice the amount of fruit today, so I’m outta fruit for the rest of the day. No yummy fruity snack later.
Dinner tonight is burgers and fries. I plan on eating my burger in a pita pocket, with a side of fries. We buy the Alexia organic ones.
Saturday, day 13
Dirty 30, I don’t know why, but man was it tough today. I used 5 pound weights, where as before I was using 3 pound weights or none at all. Breakfast another shake, but I went out and bought some vanilla cupcake protein powder, just to make things a bit smoother for a few days. So much better tasting!
Lunch was a little bit of everything. Grapes, turkey, celery with peanut butter, and almonds.
Dinner was steak fajitas! Yum!
Sunday, day 14
Today has been rough. I woke up sore. Guess it was the 5 pound weights from yesterday. Yoga felt wonderful this morning.
I had my shake, the vanilla protein powder, spinach, and frozen fruit, with unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
Lunch was the same as yesterday, and for dinner we had homemade pizza. Zack broke me off my own little ball of dough for a pizza that had spinach, onions, bacon, pepperoni (Applegate brand), garlic, organic tomato sauce, and cheese. So good!
Back to today being rough. I stepped on the scale and broke out the measuring tape today. I haven’t seen a difference in the way my clothes fit at all. Nothing, nada. So I wanted to just “see”, and my seeing, well it was a punch in the face. Only a couple of pounds gone, and not really anything impressive with inches. That is depressing. However, on a positive mental note: I used 5 pound weights yesterday, so I’m getting stronger!! I also haven’t been modifying every single thing anymore. Again, stronger.
I am gonna be honest with y’all too. I did have a handful of Skittles today. I know, I only cheated myself. Wanna know something though. They were sicky sweet. Too sweet. I’m used to the sweetness from carrots and fresh fruit. I’m used to only a teaspoon or so of agave in my coffee, this it was too much. So that’s another positive mental note. I have to keep reminding myself, I didn’t do this to necessarily lose weight, I know that it will come, eventually. I am doing this to break my food addiction. The Skittles were a minor set back. And I have to say this too, it’s the first time I’ve ever made it two weeks before cheating. Here’s to the last week! And I’m ready for another round!
