What is all this talk about Posh?
I want to pause from posting about food today to share a new line of products that I discovered. I think you’re all going to fall in love with, like we did.
Perfectly Posh, where do I begin? So, as you know, if you’re a reader of Everyday Made Fresh, you know that Kelsie is allergic to a number of things, including the dreaded one that seems to find itself in EVERYTHING – coconut! Every single product that I’ve ever picked up in the store, or looked at online contains some sort of ingredient derived from coconut. Not good for Kelsie. Soaps, bar or liquid? Coconut. Shampoo/Conditioner? Coconut. Lotion? Coconut. Baby products? Coconut. You see the pattern. And although coconut is a fantastic product, there are other options! (hear that companies, there are other options!)
I finally found one shampoo and one bar of soap on Amazon that happens to be coconut free. The shampoo totally dries her hair out, and the soap, even though it works beautifully and smells of luscious lemon, smelling like lemon every time you shower, gets a bit redundant. We were all frankly sick of smelling lemon! Lotion? Forget it. I couldn’t find one lotion that didn’t have an ingredient derived from coconut.
That is when I got an invite on Facebook for a friend of mine’s launch, Perfectly Posh online party. I accepted, and was sort of like, I’ll check it out but seriously doubt that anything is going to be coconut free. However, I check everything that I run across, in hopes that one day I stumble upon something that isn’t made with coconut. I went to the chunks (soap bars) first. What I LOVED and still love about Perfectly Posh is that they have the list of ingredients on every item right there on the website when you click to look at it. This makes my life so much easier. Well, I freaked out, in a good way, when I discovered FINALLY bars of soap, other than that one lemon bar on Amazon, which is made without coconut!! I ordered two bars, one was the Bless Your Heart and the other was a face wash bar, PORE-FECT Face Wash Bar. We got them in about a week, opened and they smelled amazing! Kelsie was thrilled that she finally had options to choose from. But that wasn’t the really the test. She had to try them out first. Her skin was so soft – I was surprised. The PORE-FECT Face Wash Bar took care of the little pimples she was starting to get. (she’s hitting that age) And she didn’t contract any eczema flare ups! Hallelujah!! Another little bonus that I loved was that Perfectly Posh also sent a sample of another product to try out! (they have done that with every order I’ve placed)
Ok, so what I found a bar of soap that isn’t made with coconut, and a face bar of soap that isn’t made of coconut! Yes, yes I did!
But Perfectly Posh is way more than just offering products that do not contain coconut – they have quite a few of those actually, and they are so easy to find, because like I mentioned above, they list their ingredients on the item page of the web site. But they also list a conglomeration of ingredients, to what I think is every one of their products, in their catalog; which you receive when you place an order. It really made my life easier, and Kelsie much happier. She would always be bummed about Bath and Body Works at the mall. While her sister was picking out awesome smelling soaps, gels, etc. She was stuck smelling candles (which isn’t a bad thing!) but not a great one when she would have loved to have smelled like some of the scents besides lemon.
As you can tell we are super passionate about Perfectly Posh! If you’re not coconut free, but are thinking so what, I like Bath and Body Works, well so did I! However, have you ever really looked at their ingredients? We have been trying to head towards a more natural way of life. Reducing paper waste in the kitchen by switching to cloth napkins and towels. Trying to wash our clothes in a more natural way by making our own laundry detergent. Growing a garden so that I can control what we put on it to get rid of the critters. So why not switch over the soaps, lotions, body products that we use?
Perfectly Posh is a line of products that are made in the USA! They only use the best ingredients, without any funky fillers that can cause irritation. They also carry quite a bit of vegan products. And they don’t test any of their products on animals. You can read every ingredient on their labels. IF you run across a word that you may not know, you’re in luck, because from what I have noticed, they will put where that ingredient is derived from. For example: Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter It really make life easier when you’re trying to avoid certain ingredients.
